NOTE: Residents of the United States — including foreign citizens with immigrant (resident) visas, foreign citizens with G-4 visas, and undocumented aliens — are not considered international students, and should apply as regular freshmen or transfer students.
What Type of Applicant Are You?
You should apply to UDC as a First Time in College Applicant only if ALL of the following conditions apply:
- You are seeking an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- You have graduated, or will graduate, from high school, or you possess a valid General Education Development (GED) certificate, and you have not previously enrolled in any postsecondary institution in or outside the United States
Requirements
First Time in College (Freshman) applicants are required to submit all of the following for admission:
- Completed online application for First Time in College Applicants
- Nonrefundable $35.00 application fee (currently waived)
- Official high school transcript(s), or copy of a GED diploma, and test scores or equivalent, reflecting all coursework, grades, and date of graduation
- For Flagship applicants only, official SAT, ACT, or ACCUPLACER scores, sent directly from the testing agency, and/or identified on student's official transcripts. Note: Effective, Fall 2020 we are SAT and ACT optional.
You should apply to UDC as an Adult Learner First Time in College (Freshman) Applicant only if ALL of the following conditions apply:
- You are an adult learner from Academy of Hope PCS, Briya PCS, Carlos Rosario International PCS, Community College Prep, LAYAC Career Academy, The Goodwill Excel Center, The Next Step PCS, Maya Angelou PCS, The Family Place PCS, or Youth Build PCS
- You are seeking an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- You have graduated or will graduate, from high school, or you possess a valid General Education Development (GED) certificate, and you have not previously enrolled in any postsecondary institution in or outside the United States
Requirements
Adult Learner First Time in College (Freshman) applicants are required to submit all of the following for admission:
- Completed online application for First Time in College Applicants Nonrefundable $35.00 application fee (currently waived).
- Official high school transcript(s), or copy of a GED diploma, and test scores or equivalent, reflecting all coursework, grades, and date of graduation.
- For Flagship applicants only, official SAT, ACT, or ACCUPLACER scores are sent directly from the testing agency and/or identified on the student's official transcripts. Note: Effective Fall 2020, we are SAT and ACT optional.
You should apply to UDC as a Transfer Applicant only if ALL of the following conditions apply:
- You are seeking an Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- You have completed high school and are currently enrolled in, or have previously attended a college, university, and/or proprietary school in or outside of the United States at any time since high school graduation
1 Students who previously attended UDC as degree-seeking students must apply as Readmit Applicants, even if they enrolled in a postsecondary institution since leaving UDC
2 Students who are seeking a second Bachelor's degree should apply as Transfer Applicants.
Requirements
Transfer applicants are required to submit ALL of the following for admission:
- Completed online application for Transfer Applicants
- Nonrefundable $35.00 application fee (currently waived)
- Official college transcript(s) reflecting all coursework and grades from all postsecondary institutions attended. At the time of APPLICATION, transfer students must submit transcripts from all institutions attended. Failure to do so may result in the denial of transfer credits. We will only review credits for transcripts received prior to your admission to UDC. UDC will not accept requests to apply credits for which we have no transcripts submitted prior to your admission.
- Official high school transcript(s), or copy of GED diploma and test scores or equivalent, with date of graduation from all secondary institutions attended
You should apply to UDC as a Non-Degree Applicant only if ALL of the following conditions apply:
- You are not seeking a degree from UDC
- You are not seeking financial aid from UDC
- You are NOT on an F-1 or J-1 Visa (EXCEPTION: You will/have graduated from UDC with a bachelor’s degree within the past academic year and are awaiting acceptance to a graduate degree program).
- You have graduated from high school
Certificate program applicants must apply as a non-degree-seeking applicant.
Requirements
Non-degree applicants are required to submit ALL of the following for admission:
- Completed online application for Non-Degree Applicants
- Non-refundable $35.00 application fee or the applicable non-refundable graduate WebAdMIT application fee (currently waived). UDC graduate application fee of $50 is waived.
Undergraduate Applicants
- Official high school transcript(s), or copy of a GED diploma, or evaluated high school transcript(s); or a current college transcript or letter from your current college showing that you are in good academic standing
Graduate Applicant
Official college transcript(s) reflecting date of graduation from an accredited Bachelor's degree program
You should apply to UDC as a Graduate Degree Applicant only if ALL of the following conditions apply:
- You are seeking a Graduate degree
- You have earned a Bachelor's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution

- You are seeking an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree
- You were previously enrolled at UDC as a degree-seeking student
- You have not been enrolled in courses at UDC for two or more subsequent semesters (excluding summer) for any reason
- Suspended for academic or non-academic reasons,
- Completed a total withdrawal regardless of when the total withdrawal occurred
Requirements
Re-admit applicants are required to submit ALL of the following for admission:
- Completed online application for Re-admit Applicants.
- Non-refundable $35.00 application fee (currently waived).
- Official college transcript(s) reflecting all course work and grades from all post-secondary institutions attended since leaving UDC.
If you received Financial Aid during your previous attendance, please check with the Financial Aid Office for any updates to your eligibility, as
Federal Financial Aid regulations have changed.
If you left UDC owing a tuition balance, please check with Student Accounts for Financial Clearance.
Readmitted Students with prior financial balances must pay all financial obligations in order to register for classes.

Application Deadline:

You are considered an International Applicant and should complete one of the International Applications if you are:
- You are seeking an Associate's, Bachelor's, Graduate, or Doctoral degree
- A foreign national who has nonimmigrant visa/status in the USA, such as F-1, H-4, L-2, G-4, etc
- A pending permanent resident (application for permanent resident status to USCIS is submitted, but not yet adjudicated) in the USA
US citizens (including dual citizens), US permanent residents, and asylees or refugees, foreign citizens with G-4 visas, and undocumented aliens, are not considered international students, and should apply as regular freshmen, transfer, or graduate students.
Requirements
International Applicants, other than Readmits and Non-Degree seeking applicants, are required to submit ALL of the following for admission:
- Completed appropriate online International Application
- Pay the applicable non-refundable graduate WebAdMIT application fee (currently waived). UDC graduate application fee of $50 is waived.
- Official postsecondary schools, colleges, universities, or professional institutions transcript (s), reflecting all coursework, grades, and date of graduation. For all transcript(s) in languages other than English, the applicant must provide the original transcript and diploma (School-Leaving Certificate) showing all grades (marks) and the date of graduation, in the form of a document-by-document evaluation by a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). Hand-delivered originals or copies will not be accepted.

Language Requirements
Proof of English Proficiency
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- Minimum score of 550 on the written test, or 79 on the Internet test, are admissible by both the Community College and Flagship campuses.
- Applicants with scores of less than 60 on the Internet test will be deniedadmission to the Community College.
- Applicants with scores 60 -78 on the Internet who have an average score of 86 or better on the ESL Accuplacer exam will be admitted into the Community College.
Graduate /Doctoral Degree – Minimum score:
- Paper and Pencil Test – 550
- Computer-Based Test – 213
- Internet-Based Test – 79
Submit International Language Testing System (ILETS)
- Associate's/Bachelor’s degree – Minimum overall band score of 6
- Graduate /Doctoral Degree – 5
Requirement Waiver
College-Level English:
- Official college transcript evidencing the successful completion of two college-level English courses at an accredited American college or university
- Official college transcript(s) indicating a grade of “C” or better in one college-level English course at an accredited postsecondary institution in the United States
- Graduated from an ELS Educational Services English proficiency program with a minimum proficiency score of 109 for the Community College, or 112 for the Flagship Undergraduate or Graduate programs
Graduate/Doctoral Degree Program:
- Official college transcript(s) reflecting the successful completion of a degree earned in an accredited American college or university
- Test scores are to be mailed directly to the University by the Educational Testing Service (ETS)
International applicants must pursue a degree, and are not eligible for non-degree student status.
